Don’t Forget About Your Little Dreams While You Dream Big

I haven’t posted in a while as I took some time off from this blog to play catch up with life and other projects that are on my plate. So I want to take a moment to talk about the things we all could de to appreciate the journey we all are on for inspiration and improving our lives.

When you decide you want to pursue a big dream, you get excited and are ready to take on that goal, you’re focused in the mission to accomplish it and then all of a sudden you’re burned out and have lost your gusto. Well that was me this past week or two since I last blogged.

I realized I needed to take time for my self and go after my small dreams. These dreams consist of easy and obtainable goals. One of my dreams was to go on a shopping trip for a new wallet after work, and just be with myself.

My next dream was to take my son on a early birthday trip to an amusement park and the beach. Mission accomplished, we had a blast!

My little dream this week is to try something new! Just as simple as that.

I call them little dreams because we all think about something we want to do and accomplish. What makes life more fun is to give yourself a to do list of your little dreams and accomplish them as much as possible. Once you practice this, you’ll be surprised of how motivated you will get to continue on your BIG dream. Your mind will be clearer because you’ve raised your energy level to match the energy you need to fulfill your big goal. If for some reason you fall out of love with your big goal, don’t worry just enjoy the journey overall and continue to make little dreams and new big dreams will come true.

Things Got Heated In The Kitchen

I thought I would share today’s experience as it was rather odd and I don’t really know what to think about it, besides of the fact someone was having a really horrible day.

So a co-worker and I were thinking about a place to go for lunch and I had a mentioned a great Filipino food place that was not too far away from work. So we went there and arrived, the guy who works at the counter was very friendly and remembered me from the  last time I ate there which was about 2 weeks ago.

So my co-worker and I ordered and sat down at a table close to the entry way. We were having a great conversation about work and outside projects when not too long after we sat down, you could hear an argument in the kitchen, I mean this was a heated argument. No pun intended, but it got so heated everyone in the restaurant turned around to look towards the back to see if there were going to be any pots and pans flying through. My co-worker and I looked at each other and was ready to bolt out of there not knowing how mad the guy was in the back or how far he was going to take his anger.

The nice gentleman in the front counter looked distressed, worried and embarrassed. I felt horrible that all of this was happening especially knowing the nice man felt helpless. So about 5 minutes later the whole kitchen staff, three guys and a lady came out of the kitchen pushing out one of the guys, I am assuming he was the guy yelling.

Finally things calmed down a bit and most of the customers left during the quarrel. My co-worker and I stayed through it. After a while the man calmed down and left, that’s when we left to go back to the office. But before we left, I thanked the man at the counter for a wonderful meal, and that I would be back again soon. He smiled and said thank you very much and sorry for the scene. I said no worries, it seems like that guy is extremely passionate about cooking.

The only takeaway I have for this story is that it’s probably not good to be mad while cooking or near food. Cooking is energy and anger and frustration will give off its own energy as well. Not to say the food will be tainted with evil, but it probably wasn’t given the  love and attention it could have received. I don’t think that cook made our food as a woman brought it out but she wasn’t part of the 3 men and a lady from the argument.

Overall I’m just glad no one got hurt. The whole incident was bizarre but interesting at the same time. Just thought I share my experience for today.

Motivation Morning Cup of Joe…Decaf

“Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.”

Do you ever feel inspired in a certain part of the day as if you could do just about anything and you seem to have regained hope for a better road ahead? For me it’s always in the morning after I get up, get ready for work, go out the door as I get into my car and drive off to start my day.

For some reason, I feel like as if I could conquer the world as I take along my confidence in a successful day. As short as the feeling goes throughout the day when the routine of life kicks in, this burst of motivation does help me stay focused and positive.

My mission this week is to continue to explore new possibilities and to push my self a little bit harder in trying something new.

Let’s do this together, think of something you want to try or do something spur of the moment this week that is out of your comfort zone. It could be a simple gesture such as paying it forward someway or try a new food that you are scared to try!

I’ll share my updates with you and if you would like to share please feel free to do so!

Have a great week ahead and what ever you try, have fun with it!

Date Night, No Casinos

If you don’t live in Vegas and are wondering what else you could be doing besides the typical casino walk along the strip, Believe it or not Las Vegas has allot of things to do. One of my favorite venues is First Friday located in the arts district of the city. This event happens…you guessed right, every first Friday of the month.

At First Friday you’ll see local artists and crafters, gourmet food trucks, live music and street performers. It’s a fun time and the atmosphere is very casual. Bring the family, there’s fun for everyone. To learn more about this event and to see better images than the photos I took below 🙂 visit their website at: ffflv.org

We had a great time tonight just being out together and enjoying the city we call home now for 4 years now. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Short Story: Short Plane Rides and Interesting People

Last week on my flight to Southern California which is takes no more than an hour to fly, had me a little bummed because my flight was going to be packed like sardines and I was dreading who ever was going to sit next to me.  I usually sit in the window seat of a plane to look out of the window to help me actually feel like I’m not crowded in.

So a couple came in and sat down next to me, they were probably in their late 50’s early 60’s or so, no big deal. We all were sitting in the row in front of the emergency exit row and the flight attendant asked all who sat in that row if they would assist in case of an emergency. She was a nice pleasant woman, around the same age as the couple next to me. The husband of the woman who was sitting next to me started talking to the flight attendant in casual conversation. The woman at the same time was trying to get the attention of the husband on some kind of phone app she wanted to show him.

The husband wouldn’t stop talking to the flight attendant. Long story short the wife did not like that and yelled at him in front of everyone to stop talking to her. I felt embarrassed for the guy who afterwards didn’t speak much after that for the rest of the flight. I had the shade on my window down to block the sun until we had passed the sun’s pathway during flight.

I was ready to get some light so I kindly asked the woman next to me with a little hesitation if the light would bother her if I pulled up the shade. She turned around with the sweetest look on her face and said: “Oh no dear, you go right ahead. It doesn’t bother me.”

To my relief I smiled and said thanks, pulled up the shade and buried my head back into my phone.

On the next flight to return home. I actually got really lucky and sat by two lovely ladies who were so friendly and nice to talk to. They were in town for a convention and was excited to be in Vegas. It was great to be around their presence.

You know, now that I look at things, people are usually really happy when they come to Vegas. On that note, the nice thing about flying is if you do get lucky and you sit next to someone who is awesome to talk to, then you will have the quickest and happiest experience, which makes traveling worth while.

One thing that I am grateful for from the first flight is (and not that I promote drinking…ok maybe a little) the lady ordered a Bloody Mary, and she and everyone else was able to relax the rest of the flight.

Just a Note For Today

Another week has begun as we are heading into it with our routines and obligations, remember to do the best you can, think positive and breathe!

You got this. Have a beautiful week!

Q: What is one small goal that you would like to accomplish this week? How do you plan to achieve it? Leave your responses in the comments.

My goal this week is to create a design of something every day. I plan to achieve it by taking an extra half hour everyday to make room to create.

A Little Art, Allot of Feeling Good

3 Tulips one orange small, one blue medium, one red tall
“3 Tulips” painted with acrylic on canvas 2011

Painting is one of favorite things to do. It relaxes me, helps me focus and allows me to be creative without worrying what people think about my work. It’s my art it’s my expression!

Throw Back Thursday. This painting was done about 2011 and its acrylic on canvas. This was when my husband and I were living in California, I could paint outside and it was nice because we lived not to far from the bay and behind our apartments was a marsh that filled up with the bay water every afternoon. It was a beautiful site to see so many different bird species come out to feed on the fish that washed up.

I’n not sure why I painted tulips that day but it was nice for me. I gave this painting away as I did with most of them before moving to Nevada. These days I don’t paint as much due to job, family. But I do make the time!

What do you love to do that only matters to you? A little bit of happiness will do you allot of good!
